The Scotsman reported June 18 that an Edinburgh dentist Dr. Biju Krishnan is offering free dentistry to children affected by the Chernobyl nuclear disaster.
There are 25 children from the town of Mogilev in Scotland for four weeks and they are receiving the treatment worth thousands of pounds.
The Friends of Chernobyl’s Children organisation have brought the children to this clinic for over for a month’s medical treatment. Dr. Biju became internationally popular with the Scottish Dental Implant Centre. He has now opened a new practice to concentrate on adopting and developing the most advanced techniques in cosmetic dentistry.
The publication reported that the clinic intends to use these advanced techniques and knowledge for the children from the nuclear disaster zone.
The staff at the clinic has also supported the doctor by giving up their spare time to help them and buying the children gifts.
Mogilev was one of the towns worst hit by the nuclear reactor meltdown on April 26, 1986 when 190 tons of highly radioactive waste material was thrown into the atmosphere. To obtain more information, view the article at: http://deadlinescotland.wordpress.com/2009/06/17/6701-1221/
